Our History
Woodlawn Animal Hospital (WAH) was founded on March 1, 1995, by Dr. Allyson J. Harris. Learn more about Dr. Harris. Formerly named Sweeney Animal Hospital, the facility that now houses WAH has been a pet care fixture in the Woodlawn community for over 90+ years!
Excellence in Pet Care
Woodlawn Animal Hospital is a full-service veterinary hospital including an in-house pharmacy, surgery suite, in-house lab, on-site x-ray capabilities, and a supervised recovery area.
Dr. Harris’s mission is to bring quality veterinary medicine and pet care to an underserved, but highly deserving community. A place where she can combine her passions in veterinary medicine, client education, and outstanding client services.
Clients think of her as a “partner” in the pursuit of their pet’s health and well-being. Her “no nonsense” approach to this “partnership” is her signature!

She tells clients, "We HAVE to do this together!" She also sets an example for young people. No matter the circumstance, they can fully achieve any goal they set! It just takes hard work, integrity, and an "overcomer" attitude!!
